The “Commuters” tells us about the daily lives of people in developed societies. A Monday morning New York subway scene about people on the way to work, make us doubt about the sense of reality. Is it reality or just a comic illustration?

Commuters trata de la existencia diaria de la gente de nuestra sociedad. Un lunes por la mañana cambiando de metro en Nueva York camino del trabajo. ¿Se trata de un cómic o es realidad?

通勤者談及我們社會中人們的日常生活。禮拜一早晨，在紐約轉乘地鐵去上班。這是漫畫或是真實的人生呢?

Encounters

A typical Santacana´s Conceptual Figurative style of work, it was initiated in the U.S.

and keeps a definite American flavor. Work in which we do not know very well who is the protagonist? Is it the viewer or the portrait depicted?

The portrait character emerges from the frame and is becoming present. The background is blurred to emphasize the surprise and dialogue between the two: the visitor and the portrait.

This painting tells us about the vital impact of how a work of art can have on a person at a given moment. Santacana has managed to synthesize a Picasso portrait that is exhibiting in the Metropolitan Museum of New York by maintaining its expressive power and giving it a new dimension: the dialogue between a work of art and its recipients.

Típico del estilo figurativo conceptual de Santacana, fue pintada a su regreso de EEUU y guarda en su tematica y factura un indudable sabor americano. Obra en la que no se sabe muy bien quien es el protagonista, si el visitante o el cuadro que observa. El personaje del cuadro emerge de el y se impone a un primer plano de la realidad. El fondo se diluye para reflejar la sorpresa y el dialogo entre ambos: visitante y retrato. Narra el impacto vital que una obra de arte puede ejercer sobre una persona en un momento dado. Santacana ha sabido sintetizar el retrato que pinto Picasso y se guarda en el “Metropolitan” de Nueva York, conservando su fuerza expresiva y situandolo en un nueva dimension: la del dialogo de la obra de arte y sus destinatarios.

沈拉蒙典型的象徵概念風格，在他於美國歸來時完成，保留了它的主題及明確的美國風味。在這作品中看不出誰是主角，是觀賞者還是被觀賞的畫？

An "Eight Men" mirror painting, “Eight Children” also relates to its existential angst and loneliness. Although the characters here are still children, but each one has already his own story and individuality. Eight individuals who are seeking to "be.” With the lively treatment of colors, exuberant vegetation and the existence of a building in the background, all are transmitting a hopeful tone to this work.

Cuadro espejo de “Eight Men”, guarda relación con su angustia existencial y su soledad. Se trata de niños todavía, pero cada uno también con su historia y su vida. Ocho individualidades que buscan “ser”. Un vivo tratamiento del color, exuberante vegetación y la existencia un edifico porticado como fondo, transmiten a la obra un matiz esperanzado.

「八個男人」的寫照畫，蘊藏著孤獨和生存的憂慮。主題仍是孩子，但每一位有著自己的故事及人生。八個尋找「我是誰」的個體。栩栩如生的色彩、鬱鬱蔥蔥的植物及盡頭有著拱廊的建築，賦予此畫充滿希望的色調。

Maternity is part of a set of two works which bear some symmetry between them; each shows a mother with her child, both well individualized despite their similarities. This work with a Central American aboriginal flavor reflects the mystery of the transmission of life, without ignoring the sacrifices that motherhood entails over generations of women.

Maternity forma parte de un conjunto de dos obras que guardan cierta simetría entre si, cada una nos muestra a una madre con su hijo, que a pesar de sus paralelismos están bien individualizadas. La obra, de sabor indigena americano, refleja el misterio de la trasmisión de la vida, sin ignorar los sacrificios que ello ha implicado sobre generaciones de mujeres.

產婦是兩個對稱作品的結合，每一幅都有一個媽媽和他的兒子，在相似處之下皆有其個性。作品有美洲原住民的味道，反映了生命傳遞的神秘，並重視女人代代相傳的犧牲奉獻。

This is another example of the symbolic conceptual figurative style; combining a mixed technique that calls for the use of brush for the buildings and environment, and the knife technique for the central trees. This duality of techniques expresses a contrast between the buildings symbolizing men's activity, and the trees representing the wild impetuosity of nature. A nature that, despite its mysterious allure, is now often being more caged in and endangered.

Otro exponente del figurativismo conceptual y simbolista, combinan una tecnica mixta: pincel para los edificios y entorno, paleta para los arboles. Esta dualidad de tecnicas expresa una contraposicion entre los edificios, simbolo de la actuacion del hombre, y los arboles, el salvaje impetu de la naturaleza. Una naturaleza que, a pesar de su misterioso atractivo, cada vez está mas encajonada y en peligro

另一個象徵概念的比喻，結合了混合的技巧，建築物與環境使用刷畫法畫製而成，樹木使用調色法。此二元性的技巧表達了建築物的對比，人類行為的象徵，樹木和大自然的原始活力。神祕冨有魅力的大自然一次比一次狹窄且危險。
